The sharply styled Kia ProCeed is an affordable and well-equipped vehicle from Kia that comes with a range of cost-effective engine options. This sporty hatchback is available in two trim levels, ‘2’ and GT-Line.
The Kia ProCeed is a car designed to impress. With its assertive stance, 16-inch alloy wheels, graphite chrome-trimmed high-gloss black mesh grille and smart rear spoiler, it stands out from the crowd. Body-coloured fixtures include door handles and wide-view door mirrors. The latter are electrically adjustable, heated and feature integrated LED indicators and kerbside lights. Further illumination includes automatic cornering-assist headlights, LED daytime running lights, front fog lamps, LED tail lights and a high-mounted LED brake light.
Chrome highlights can be discerned throughout the Kia ProCeed’s five-seat cabin – on door handles, instrument cluster rings and elsewhere. The driver benefits from a height-adjustable seat and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. The latter is leather-trimmed too, as is the vehicle’s gearshift knob and handbrake. Other standard features include power-operated front windows (with automatic up/down functionality), air-conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter and remote central locking. A minimum-capacity 380-litre boot can be expanded thanks to 60/40 split-folding rear seats, enabling as much as 1,318 litres of cargo space.
The most fuel-efficient engine available for the Kia ProCeed comes with entry-level ‘2’ grades. This 1.6-litre 134bhp diesel unit is paired with six-speed manual transmission and returns as much as 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km. It also produces 280Nm of torque and allows the vehicle to go from 0-60mph in approximately 9.7 seconds.
A six-speaker sound system includes DAB digital radio and a CD player, both of which can be operated using steering wheel-mounted controls. MP3 compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and AUX audio interfaces are included too.
The Kia ProCeed has been awarded a five-star rating by Euro NCAP, and driver aids include Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Hill-start Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Among the vehicle’s standard passive safety features are ISOFIX child-seat top tethers and anchor points, seatbelt reminders, multiple airbags and impact-sensing auto-door-unlocking.
